Charity Options
Individuals
Charitable donations may be made through gifts of cash, in-kind contributions
of household furnishings, food, and through personal volunteering of time.
Board Members
As a member of the Aid For Friends Board of Directors, the development
committee sets suggested guidelines for annual board member contributions
and solicits those contributions in the form of cash, volunteer service, and
assistance with special events and programs.
Community Organizations
Civic organizations, clubs, and religious groups can volunteer to assist with a
great variety of projects at Aid For Friends; including adopt a room, shelter
fix up and maintenance projects, food drives, home starter kits, holiday events,
fundraising for special need purchases, and the annual Snake River Music
Reunion fund-raiser.
Corporations
The business community may actively involve themselves at Aid For Friends
through direct cash gifts, by matching employee gifts, donations of surplus
food, furnishings, and/or by supporting the United Way of Southeastern
Idaho.
Trustees of Private Foundations
Philanthropy interests in human service, homelessness, job training, mediation and
conflict resolution, childcare, self sufficiency, life skills training, transitional
housing and advocate of low income persons may be sponsored through Aid For
Friends.
Financial Institutions
Bank contributions of cash and lending support offer community reinvestment
opportunities. Aid For Friends is a Community Housing Development Organization
(CHDO) and partnership for development of affordable housing and tax credit
projects are considered.
Gift and Support Alternatives
Cash Contributions
Gifts of $1 to $250 to $500 to $1,000 or more are accepted any time.
Aid For Friends Endowement Fund
Established in 1997 to create an ongoing source of income for the management and
operation of the agencies facilities. Funds will stabilize availabilty of services
and programs within the community during times of financial shortfalls or funding
cycle changes. The endowment is managed by the Idaho Community Foundation.
Adopt a Room
The Emergency Shelter and Resource Center have rooms that may be adopted for
$500 a year. This support assists in upkeep, painting, and furnishing the room with
necessities. The donor may be involved as a volunteer in any of the room projects.
Memorials, Living Trusts, & Estate Gifts*
As a non-profit organization, Aid For Friends is able to accept other assets,
property, or belongings through charitable trusts, life insurance, stocks, and
estate planning.
*For Tax purposes, contributors should consult with a tax adviser about donation
giving benefits.
